Fruits and Vegetables That Help Fight Aging!


Whether we like aging or not, it is inevitable and better than the alternative. However, there are ways that you might slow it down so you can age in a healthier way and more gracefully.

But what is this trick?



Well, it isn’t just circumstance but instead all reliant on what we do. Research points to diet affecting the body cells associated with aging. Prepared meals and other foods might actually accelerate aging but there are other ways to prepare food which might actually slow the effects.

From Fruits

There are numerous fruits and vegetables which contain high levels of antioxidants to prevent aging and other adverse effects of free radicals in the body.

As far as fruit, the most effective is avocado because it helps to cleanse the body of burnt fats. Citrus fruits such as lemons, grapefruits, and oranges, which have antioxidant properties but are also high in vitamin C.




From Vegetables

Broccoli is also a great source because it actually hinders the formation of free radicals and research indicates it can even reduce the risk of cancer by two-thirds. Another green veggie high in antioxidants which helps prevent aging is spinach which contains the antioxidant lutein.

Carrots, onions, garlic and tomatoes are also great for anti-aging. Carrots are high in beta-carotene. Just one glass of carrot juice contains 24 mg of beta-carotene and this compound is effective for protecting against disease. Note that cooking the carrots doesn’t destroy beta-carotene.

As far as onions and garlic, the garlic is wonderful for maintaining the health of blood vessels in the body and also helps to regulate blood pressure. This can also protect the body from the bad cholesterols.




Tomatoes which are in a form of concentrate are actually the highest source of lycopene which is an antioxidant that helps maintain many healthy bodily functions. It isn’t destroyed by cooking either.

Kale is a great green veggie that should be cooked briefly. Do not overcook it! It helps contribute to the prevention of stomach and breast cancer.

Grapes and berries are also wonderful sources of aging-prevention antioxidants. Black grapes in particular have skins and seeds along with the antioxidants which help to balance cholesterol and prevents blood clots.

Folic acid should be also noted for its importance for the blood vessels and brain. There are also other plants that prevent aging. It’s also important to maintain healthy levels of movement, physical activity and a moderation of tension and stress. It’s purely up to you how you want to live your life with a healthier well-being.
